“we know that we know not - this allows us to accept pieces of information which may prove to be critical” - RAS Na’im
the following pieces are what i am contributing to the grand puzzle of reality
if you BELIEVE THAT YOU FULLY UNDERSTAND the human experience, this page will likely be of no service to you
if not, i invite you to CONSIDER these observations and ideas - perhaps they will Illuminate corners of your world
OAKLAND’S BELT
the oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh contains three prestigious entities : university of pittsburgh (pitt), carnegie institute (museum), and carnegie mellon university (cmu)
each one of them contains a landmark element amongst their respective structures:
these three markers are also illuminated at night - beacons, if you will:
when viewed from above, these 3 markers are in alignment with the 3 stars which make up orion’s belt:
you may however notice an unfortunate misalignment between hamerschlag and mintaka
thankfully, when the university added roberts engineering hall onto hamerschlag in 1997, the design included a very clear arrow pointing to a properly aligned circle:
if you are familiar with the giza pyramid complex, you may know the three main pyramids are also in aligment with orion’s belt:
this of course means that the three landmarks in oakland are aligned with the giza pyramids:
take special note of the carnegie institute being sized proportionate to the base of khafre’s pyramid, and how the axis of the museum’s pyramid is aligned with that of khafre’s pyramid:
since all three giza pyramids are oriented on the same axis, the carnegie institute is aligned with all three giza pyramids relative to orion
interestingly enough, this city map marks the museum with a simple pyramid, while giving other notable sites either circles or more complex icons:
it’s also worth noting that this small stretch of forbes avenue, which barely runs over 1000 meters, is parallel to the museum’s front, and is therefore paved in alignment with the pyramids relative to orion
the causes and effects of this arrangement are ideas which we will explore later on…
SCHENLEY’S SERPENT
expanding on the observation made above, let’s zoom out to see all of orion over pittsburgh:
there appear to be some vague similitudes in the overall cityscape - especially how the neighborhood of south oakland fits right into the hunter’s legs
additionally, check out how orion’s shield rests right in between pittsburgh’s two most notable parks : frick park and schenley park
we find schenley park on the west, nicely nestled in between orion’s legs and shield:
if we enter the park at the last star in the shield, we soon arrive at this spot - where serpentine drive meets circuit road:
the serpent has been an extremely meaningful symbol throughout countless cultures and ages, sometimes representing the universe itself
when serpents reveal themselves, in this case with a street name, it is often worthwhile to pay attention and look for something greater
i’d even argue that we have two serpent streets at hand - consider how similar these two words feel when said: “serpent”, “circuit”, “serpent”, “circuit”
thanks to the names of these roads, we can sense that a serpent is afoot - we just need to find more of it…
if we head west down circuit drive, which is suspiciously more serpentine than serpentine drive itself, we see it terminate at schenley drive:
right at that intersection, we have a pond that hosts an extremely picturesque monument, the westinghouse memorial:
i don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to point out how much the memorial’s footprint looks like a serpent head:
if schenley park does contain some sort of serpent effigy, i would not argue that this is its actual head - it merely suggests that we are on the right path, and encourages us to keep looking…
continuing west, we arrive atop flagstaff hill - the westernmost section of the park:
to my eyes, the flagstaff hill area does resemble the side view of a serpent head upon first glance, especially when rotated:
although it seems promising, a pair of eyes would help strengthen this suspicion…
walking from the top of the hill towards Schenley drive, we come across this wall structure:
it is difficult to photograph the true shape of the wall, so i have drawn a close approximation of how it looks from above:
the resemblance of this form to the egyptian eye of ra is worth noting:
if we continue descending in the same direction toward schenley drive, another wall appears:
this wall proved even more difficult to accurately photograph, so again I will draw an approximation of its form as well as the tree that stands within its area and a portion of the nearby path:
here are both wall drawings imposed over their actual locations in flagstaff hill:
albeit comical in appearance, this arrangement does resemble snake eyes - there is also a mouth formed by the sidewalk near the bottom boundary of the park
the possibility that flagstaff hill is the serpent’s head appears more likely…
now let’s hop back to the intersection of serpentine drive + circuit road:
at this junction, in addiction to the mushroom column, we have two more interesting landmarks, the first of which is indicated on this satellite image - the neill log house:
this is said to be the oldest residential structure in the region, and bears close resemblance to the cabin in front of pitt’s cathedral of learning:
the third landmark is circled and shown below - a stone monument to indigenous chief catahecassa, aka black hoof, of the shawnee tribe:
to help discover the significance of this monumental intersection, let’s trace both of the snake roads until they leave the park:
a meandering creature begins to reveal itself
now let’s compare that line to the most concrete snake effigy currently known to mankind, ohio’s serpent mound:
i think it is fair to say there is a general resemblance in form
in ohio, the head of the great snake at serpent mound famously points toward sunrise on the summer solstice, roughly 302° nw:
let’s compare that ray between both places:
the ray is clearly significant when laid over schenley (specifically placed to run through catahecassa’s monument at the nexus of both snake roads)
observe how circuit road dips below and rises up to meet the ray at numerous points - the ray acts like a limit that cannot be exceeded
then the ray cuts right over the eyes on flagstaff hill, and continues to exit the park at a near-parallel angle to schenley bridge
it is my belief that the monuments and roads in this park, and therefore the park as a whole, serves as a directional signal for the solstice
in other words, it is a giant clock, just like serpent mound in ohio, and stonhenge in england, and the great pyramid of giza, and countless other ancient sites around the world
additionally, given these observations, i think it is possible that schenley park was a once sacred grand indigenous serpent effigy site
if you’ve ever experienced the wonder and amazement that this park has to offer, i think that this heavenly connection may be the cause of those sensations
was edward bigelow, the man we’re told is mainly responsible for the creation of schenley park and schenley bridge, tapped into this connection?
his statue is positioned in such a way that his figure stares directly down the bridge, signaling a very close alignment to the serpent/solstice ray
again, the causes and effects of this are ideas to examine later…
finally, i’d like to point out that once the solstice/serpent/bigelow ray crosses schenley bridge, it cuts right in between the museum pyramid and the pan fountain:
so who is this pan, you may ask…
PAN’s POINT
also in the oakland neighborhood, very close to the orion’s belt landmarks, sits an amazingly dynamic full-round fountain statue
this is the mary schenley memorial fountain, also titled “a song to nature”
it depicts the god pan, who represents the earth, under the utter trance of a nymph, representing the arts and culture
the sculpture has countless details worth examining, however there is one in particular that has me most intrigued
although pan appears completely sedated, with his head hunched down and lifeless left arm, he manages to signal a direction with a hyper-extended point of the finger:
here is the actual direction that pan is pointing to, roughly 200° south:
as he sits, pan immediately points to a baseball field, which actually seems more ceremonial than functional
although there is an oddness to this field, i do not believe this is what pan is truly indicating with his point
i must believe that if i were encoding a direction into this artwork, surely the signal would not be so obvious - more work would have to be done…
let’s take a look at the area immediately around the fountain:
the shape of the paved sidewalk that encompasses the fountain is very suggestive of the point in downtown pittsburgh
the point is where the allegheny and monongahela rivers meet to form the ohio river - it is a state park and extremely significant feature of the pittsburgh region
when viewed from above, it could be argued that the pan fountain area is a miniature version of the point:
when rotated and scaled to match the point, pan sits directly in the center of the fort duquesne outline
let us not overlook the other (perhaps too obvious) connection between pan and the point - pan is indicating a point with his finger - get it?
now let’s reassess where pan is pointing once he is rotated to match the point:
when adjusted to align with the point, pan’s finger points roughly 350° north
after zooming out, we can see that he is pointing to the allegheny observatory:
once you give the observatory some attention, it doesn’t take much to realize that it is very striking, topographically speaking:
pan also helps confirm that he is signaling the observatory with the only other action he is able to take:
again, although heavily sedated, pan is able to give the viewer a firm gaze - and what do you do at an observatory? you point and gaze
with two subtle gestures, pan shows us something discreet yet significant enough to hide in pittsburgh’s public art
time for the big question - why is pan secretly pointing at the allegheny observatory?
once again, we will explore these ideas in more depth later, but for now, I will offer two succinct, perhaps compatible answers:
1. the observatory is where the ritualistic “eyes wide shut” parties happen
2. riverview park, upon which the observatory sits, is a sacred indigenous mound of massive significance
EARTH’s ARROW
thanks to pan’s point, we got to see an intriguing connection between the point and the observatory
let’s expand on that idea by connecting the point, the observatory, and pan himself:
connecting these three landmarks forms a nearly isosceles triangle, which much like pan, is signaling a direction
it is worth pointing out that pan is placed almost directly east of the point, giving the triangle a nearly flat bottom
additionally, i can’t help but notice how well the arrow acts as the head of a giant snake with miles of the allegheny river as the body:
another interesting related detail - the island in the Allegheny (washington’s landing) ends just outside of the area which the triangle occupies:
zooming back out a bit now, let’s try and see if the arrow is pointing to anything…
relative to the mostly green surroundings, our arrow seems to be signaling toward a uniquely grey strip
let’s take an overhead look at this area:
would you look at that - it’s another arrow
here’s an overlay to further highlight this bizarre feature:
i’d like to suggest that based on this detail, those responsible for the various layers of geomancy in this region may have viewed orion as an archer
orion is more commonly illustrated with a shield instead, as I alluded to previously
i should mention that geomancy is an important underlying concept throughout these studies
if you are unfamiliar, it can simply be defined as the practice of arranging structures and artworks/objects in a beneficial manner
it is a fascinating convention that i believe has been in play for tens of thousands of years on this planet, at least
anyways, strange as it may be, the invisible arrow formed by pan, the point, and the observatory is pointing to a visible arrow built into the earth
the stem of the arrow is currently occupied by highway 79, but surely a river once meandered through that route
the head of the arrow is currently occupied by the town of washington, pennsylvania
interestingly enough, earth’s arrow starts at carnegie (the man responsible for the pyramid in oakland), and ends at washington (the man responsible for our country)
zooming out a bit further, we see some other interesting alignments:
the line formed by earth’s arrow runs parallel to those formed by the first few ridges of the Appalachian mountains
if we extend earth’s arrow to the land’s end, we pick up on an even greater signal:
the arrow, which begins at the same place as the ohio river, points to the gulf of mexico, right where the ohio river eventually terminates
this cyclical signal of the river’s tail pointing to it’s head conjures up a particular ancient symbol in my mind:
the ouroboros is an age-old icon of a snake devouring its own tail, symbolizing the concept of eternal cyclical death and renewal
again, the serpent motif seems to have enormous significance on many levels
while we’re on the subject, the river appears to circumvent another full-scale serpent as it flows south:
here’s an overlay to help emphasize the creature:
finally getting back to ground level again, let me point out one last detail which signals the intentionality and reality of the pittsburgh arrow…
when standing directly in between the museum pyramid and hamerschlag, you are clearly shown just two of the many names carved into the institute:
pythagoras (triangle guy) + aristotle (realism guy) = the triangle is real
this geomantic arrangement encapsulates energies at man’s level, earth’s level, in between, and possibly beyond
i feel that all of this represents some kind of proof that humans, then and now, were tapped into something highly special in this region
energies are being channeled and broadcast through the land, the structures, and the art
but what is the point - what’s really happening here?
the Steel city spell
in my opinion, it is very clear that something is being strongly signaled in the oakland neighborhood of pittsburgh
and it’s not just me - every single person who i have personally toured around pittsburgh agrees - there is a signal
what is it though? and why did those responsible for these artworks, structures, and alignments do it?
this is a big question, and in order to attempt to answer it, two esoteric concepts must first be understood
the first of which is mounds
the people who were indigenous to the land we now call america built mounds everywhere
these mounds varied in shape, size, and significance, and the earth was covered with them
here is a map of the mounds recorded in the state of ohio up to the year 1914:
although the mounds may appear to be nothing more than sculpted dirt, they are immensely more elaborate
mound-building, when done properly, was an ancient technology that incorporated the following three energetic components:
1 : ancestor dna
these mounds are full of bodies, and as the corpses decompose and reunite with the earth, there is an energetic ancestral broadcast that empowers those who occupy the surrounding area
in contrast, us westerners box up our ancestors with wood and marble, making it impossible to facilitate this phenomenon
2 : celestial alignment
serpent mound, which we have already looked at in relation to schenley park, is a great example of this
not only does it signal the summer solstice sunset, but also the summer solstice sunrise, spring/autumn equinox sunrise, winter solstice sunrise, as well as true north
this level of attunement to the heavens is a gushing conduit for harmony between man and the cosmos
again, in modern western culture, we do not put much emphasis on this cosmic cycle, but rather adhere to a rigid calendar system full of labels which distract us from the solar stir
3 : ley line activation
if rivers are the earth’s circulatory system, then ley lines are the earth’s meridian system
if you are unfamiliar with meridian lines, they are channels within our bodies through which life-force flows - practices such as yoga and acupuncture utilize the meridian system
just like how tapping an acupuncture needle into a meridian line manipulates and activates the body’s energy, invigorating the earth by building a mound on a ley line manipulates and activates the earth’s energy
certain members of indigenous tribes were highly attuned to these energy points, and informed their people as to where to build the mounds
the mounds which best executed on these three components were extremely powerful, and i believe they were built over in an effort to siphon their energy and fuel our culture’s dominance in this region
this is why certain cities are located where they are, as seen on the above map
much of the above information about mounds was learned from ras ben - i recommend checking out more of his work if you and interested in the subject
the other underlying concept we must explore in an effort to answer our big question is spellcasting
i believe that magic is real, but it is not the grand wizardry we see in the movies
magic is simply language - spells are simply words
imagine being in the produce section at a supermarket - you say to an employee “hand me that apple”
then, all of the sudden, you have an apple in your hand
as ordinary as that may seem, that was magic - you cast a spell and it yielded what you desired
any time that you are in a city, your setting is a realm made up entirely of spellcast signals
in this case however, the responsible magicians are not speaking directly to you - instead, they are employing the language of the muses
all of the public artworks, city architecture, neighborhood distinctions, and street names are working to convince you that you are somewhere authentic - in this case, “pittsburgh”
in reality however, you are not actually in “pittsburgh” - “pittsburgh” does not truly exist in baseline reality
where you actually are is a highly concentrated energy point on this cosmic sphere we call “earth”
this energy point was once occupied, honored, and enhanced by an indigenous civilization that worshiped it
now it is the civilization and its inhabitants that are worshipped rather than the ground it was built upon
how did this inversion occur and take such strong hold that persists to this day?
spellcasting is how - that is the signal, and its broadcast is constant
pittsburgh’s portal
so far, the things i have presented have been largely observation-based
albeit some items have been a bit fantastical, i feel that they are rooted in physical evidence, present in reality for all to see and judge
here however is where i must take a bit of a leap…
it is said that every major city has a mundus, or portal - mundus is latin for world, the implication being that the portal allows access to another world
i believe that these portals are natural in some sense, and at one point were marked with mound systems
(consider how close the words mundus and mound are to each other)
to repeat an idea from above, this is why cities are where they are - energetic hot spots
pittsburgh is no different - according to legend, lord duquesne got word of the portal in this region and sent the french here to find it
i understand that a physical portal in pittsburgh sounds outlandish, but the muses seem to have much to say about its presence
before we get into that though, let’s talk about the aquifer:
the aquifer is an absolutely massive layer of sand and gravel, with water constantly rushing through it - those in the know refer to it as “the fourth river”
at this point i’d also like to speak to a certain significance that rivers hold…
as also mentioned before, rivers are the earth’s circulatory system - constantly rushing and cycling through the body via organic channels
in our bodies, we can identify the power source of this system - it’s our hearts // with the earth however, that is less clear
despite not being able to truly understand how it continues to flow, know that when you are watching a river or stream move by you, you are simply witnessing greater reality at work
the statement immediately above is a wonderful concept from micheal wann - i recommend checking out more of his work
the powerful combination of this region’s rivers and aquifer makes pittsburgh a radiant hotspot for the mysterious energy that greater reality constantly churns
that energy is what the mundus could lead to - access down to the aquifer
if you are skeptical about the existence of this kind of inner-earth territory, check out this recently discovered underground forest in the chinese countryside:
i believe that there is basically an earth 2.0 underneath the plane we interact on, and the pittsburgh aquifer could be a significant feature of this sub-world
this is far from the first time that such an idea has been suggested…
for centuries, legends and maps indicated a massive mound and whirlpool at the north pole, centered between four rivers:
some considered this to be the main access point to inner-earth
now the north pole is covered in ice, and guarded by various militaries on all sides
were these maps siting a specific location, or generally suggesting that any place with four rivers will offer a significant subterranean access point?
if the latter, then pittsburgh, with its three rivers and aquifer, could be a prime contender…
to provide further interesting and possibly connected context, the city of rome contained a ceremonial pit called the mundus cerialis
although the location or present existence of this pit is unknown, it was opened on specific days, allowing romans to give offerings to the underworld and communicate with spiritual entites
could a similar feature lie beneath one of pittsburgh’s roman-inspired structures? could this extraordinary pit be the true root of pittsburgh’s namesake?
now back to the muses - as hinted by the above image, there are many signals indicating the portal is beneath the carnegie institute
specifically, it is directly below the pyramid with the globe topper - this topper portrays the world encased by a celestial sphere, decorated with a band of zodiac symbols:
seeing as how this object represents the world, and how mundus is latin for world, and how we are in fact looking for a mundus…
for the remainder of this entry i will be referring to the museum pyramid topper as the mundus
please consider the following items as potential evidence to weigh this lofty claim that the mundus does indeed mark the site of a physical portal:
we’ll start by revisiting the orion’s belt alignment, in which the mundus occupies the central position:
as covered in the previous entry, celestial systems such as orion’s belt were mirrored on earth with mound systems
i believe this arrangement of structures was built over an indigenous mound system, as all three landmarks are mounded:
if this was indeed a mound system, there was possibly significant energy in this ground, perhaps dramatically heightened by a portal at its core
given the above, orion’s belt may have functioned as a highly important constellation for the indigenous people of this region
let’s now shift our focus to some sculpture, starting with the christopher columbus statue near flagstaff hill:
in our culture, columbus is known as the discoverer of the new world - that is what his sight was set on
with his head turned slightly left of center, we can see that he looks on to the museum courtyard:
is columbus signaling something here? if we want to discover a new world, perhaps underground, is this where we should explore?
lets’ poke around the courtyard and see…
upon entering the courtyard from this direction, the first sign we see is a bit on the nose:
if there is a portal here, they are not being very discreet about it
note that this courtyard and entry are below street level, so by entering the institute here you are effectively going underground, into the earth
let’s step back and observe the sculpture placed in front of the entry:
to me , it reads as very interdimensional - various timelines in the form of tubular tunnels, all passing by each other in an instant
advancing further into the courtyard, we come upon another sign courtesy of the muses:
here we have a spiral form set before a wall of rushing water - when facing this wall, you are pointed directly at the mundus
imagine if this sculpture and waterfall were rotated 90° with the sculpture above and the water below
i think it would heavily resemble a whirlpool descending down through a running aquifer
on the subject of the aquifer, let’s swing around to the front of the institute and cross the street
here we encounter another sculpture:
although quite abstract, i interpret this sculpture as a representation of the three rivers (on the left) and the aquifer layer (far right) - note the blue-painted interior
could this be placed here as a signal, informing us that this is where the four rivers meet?
let’s cross back over the street, right in front of the modern art section of the institute
here we encounter yet another sculpture - this one is massive, and was made by richard serra
this one is forty feet tall, comprised of four steel sheets - perhaps another reference to the four rivers
if we come around to face the institute, we can see that this sculpture functions as somewhat of a portal itself:
there is a skinny opening between the sheets, allowing us to access the interior
when standing directly in the middle of the interior, you can look up to obtain this vision:
this is a very transcendental place - things feel different, sound different // definitely an instant escape from the city surrounding the exterior
there’s even a square stone on the floor, marking where one should stand in order to maximize the portal experience:
one could read this sculpture’s signals on an even deeper and more communicative level
let’s treat the floor of the sculpture’s interior like a miniature diagram of the institute:
considering how there is an entrance to the institute directly behind the sculpture, one takes the same general path to arrive at each entity’s respective portal location
is serra’s sculpture a coded map, providing instructions on where to find the portal inside the museum?
moving on down the sidewalk, we find another sculpture - this one in the grass:
this one feels more playful in nature, but the portal-esque aspects cannot be denied
you enter this serpentine tunnel at a certain location, and come out at a different location - this is a portal
these interpretations may seem biased towards my thesis, and while they certainly are to a degree, realize that all of these works were very deliberately designed and placed in order to communicate something
pay attention to them - what are they actually saying?
at this point i’d like to share a reminder that the original half of the museum/institute is exactly proportioned and aligned to khafre’s pyramid on the giza plateau:
many believe the giza pyramids to have been portals - to where or what exactly is unknown // the idea of them being tombs is a myth however - no bodies were ever recovered from these pyramids
on the subject of the greater landmark/mound trio, let’s explore the cathedral’s role in all of this
the cathedral is the most striking and prominent structure in this entire region - it can be seen from various points all over the city and beyond
although its stature would have you think it is of utmost significance, i believe that its role is a secondary one
i think that the cathedral functions as a indicator of where the mundus is relative to yourself - if you know where the cathedral is, then you know where the mundus is
simultaneously, the cathedral’s magnificence dissuades you from putting too much emphasis on the mundus itself, which lies near its base
although i am framing the cathedral as a distracting yet informative landmark, it does emit some portal energy of its own…
take a look at these rooms that exist within the cathedral’s walls
these are 3 of 31 “nationality rooms” housed within pitt’s cathedral
the experience that these rooms provide is worth considering - you open a door and you are instantly transported to entirely elsewhere
you leave that room, walk to the next door, and again enter the realm of a completely different place - it’s like a hallway in the matrix
this is potent portal energy - one building providing global transportation
all of this may be a complement to what lies across the street beneath the mundus
getting back closer to the mundus now - the carnegie library, which occupies the southwest corner of the institute, exhibits a similar transportive feature to the cathedral’s
if you enter the library, ascend the stairs, and walk directly straight back towards being aligned with the mundus, you encounter an older world:
where the cathedral plays with location, the library plays with time - both offer strong portal experiences in immediate proximity to the mundus
now let’s head back outside to the front of the institute directly in front of the mundus
here we encounter a unique set of columns that may seem mundane, but to my eye hold great symbolism:
although simple in appearance, i believe that this subtle decorative element was sculpted to imitate an indigenous mound
the fact that these columns can only be found directly in front of the mundus leads me to believe there is a connection
now that we have set ourselves before the mundus, let’s finally step inside the institute and go beneath it
this room is called the “hall of architecture” - it is occupied by various cast replicas of figures and structures, ranging in scale from a sculpture’s head to the entire facade of a church
a topical buzzword is notably emphasized in this room:
given the prevalence of the word “portal” in this space, one might find reason to nickname this “the portal room” - you know, the one with all the portals in it
right here, beneath the earth of this space, is where I believe something otherwordly lies
let’s pop back above the institute and visually collect all of the signals in the immediate area:
there are a lot, and when read a certain way, the muses tell a story that is very clear to me
right next to the institute, down in the gulch, lies the bellefield boiler plant:
nicknamed “the cloud factory”, this plant is built into the hillside below the institute and is said to power both the university of pittsburgh and carnegie mellon university
is it possible that this plant is simply a conduit, and that the universities are actually powered by an unimaginably extreme underground source, aquifer-related or otherwise?
is this source a portal? could it really be there?
it is difficult to say for certain, but this bountiful grouping of signals speaks to me in such a way that makes it seem possible
THE TURTLE AND THE SERPENT
let’s take another look at the triangle formed by the point, the observatory, and pan:
so far we have only examined this form as an arrow, and while that is an interesting thread, there is something else to be seen here…
again, when viewed from above, the triangle’s three points are aligned with three of cygnus’ most prominent stars:
here in western culture we know cygnus as the swan, a creature that to my knowledge does not have much of a connection to pittsburgh
however, if we shift our lens to that of chinese astronomy, another creature comes into focus…
among all of the many chinese constellations, this is one of the four gods who guard the cardinal directions, and it is known as the black tortoise of the north
when depicted, as seen above, the black tortoise is commonly entangled with a serpent - a creature we have already spotted in the area:
i believe that the indigenous people of the pittsburgh region viewed this constellation in a similar way, and built a grand triangular mound system in the turtle’s honor
i also believe that those responsible for the geomancy of pittsburgh were aware of the greater turtle mound system
this is made evident by various examples in the city’s public artworks and history, which we will now examine
let’s start with the oldest known example in our modern colonial era - fort pitt:
after the french fort duquense was destroyed upon the arrival of the english, fort pitt was constructed at the point
as you can see, its shape is somewhat irregular, and to my eye, resembles a turtle ready to swim up the ohio river
if there was indeed an indigenous mound at the point which was part of a greater turtle system, this is a clever way to signal its takeover
despite this resemblance, the fort pitt museum, which is housed in a section of the old fort, chose to portray the fort like this:
you would think the museum would want to properly depict the structure it is devoted to - not in this case
staying at the point, let’s take a look at the plaque embedded in the ground at the very tip of the land:
this plaque shows the things you would expect - forts, rivers, etc. - however, there is one unexpected item contained within it:
on the plaque, near where the point is shown, lies this turtle - it is not referenced or explained whatsoever elsewhere on the plaque
i feel that the turtle mound takeover signal that i suggested above gains more strength with this detail
now back to the pan fountain in oakland…
let’s look at one more of its innumerable details - the turtle spouts:
given that this fountain aligns with one of the cygnus/xuanwu stars, it is my belief that these turtles signify knowledge of the indigenous turtle mound system and again, its takeover
additionally, i interpret the turtles on this fountain to represent the 3 rivers and the aquifer : 4 turtles = 4 rivers
we’ll look at one final example, incorporated into another site that we have previously seen - the westinghouse memorial
the two curved sections on the left and right each contain 3 rectangular reliefs depicting westinghouse’s engineering accomplishments
this one portrays the electrification of new york:
if you look closely, each one of these reliefs is visually supported by a pair of turtles:
within the context of how we are examining these items, this is as clear of a metaphor as they come
we have pittsburgh’s achievements literally resting on backs of the sacred turtles
in other words, these achievements were made possible by the takeover and utilization of what was already here - a total siphoning of potent mound energy
the spellcasters are telling us the story and we just go on with our days - this is a concept known as indirect consent
through a certain lens, it would make sense that the astronomy imported to this region with colonialism does not match that of the indigenous culture
if we had learned that the cygnus formation was a turtle instead of a swan, we may then be able more easily connect the public art to the heavens and mounds
this way however, everything is different and therefore coded // fortunately i suppose, it’s a fascinating code to try and crack
